OVER 40 SCENARIOS, NEW SCENERIOS EVERY 3-4 WEEKS

Domestic In Progress (Verbal & Physical)

The first in the line of scenarios available on the ATS and TEVR platform, this scenario takes the user through responding to an active domestic incident. As with all of our training, there are three levels: the first is training with a Field Training Officer (FTO) walking the user through each step, the second and third are more challenging and add deeper situational awareness, hazards, reactions, and stress inoculated situations.

Situational Awareness

All hell is breaking loose around the officer.  In this scenario, there is a serious incident that the officer must deal with but at the same time there are potential threats and non-threats occurring around the officer.  Can the officer deal with the situation and other issues happening at the same time?

Vagrant

Vagrancy is a big problem in many jurisdictions. Laws preventing officers from evicting them from public areas have hampered law enforcement. Does the officer encounter someone who is cooperative, someone who is intoxicated, someone who broke into a residence, or someone with a weapon? The officer must make decisions that will affect the outcome and the behavior of the vagrant.

Mentally Unstable Individual

Mentally unstable individuals can be a serious threat to law enforcement. People suffering from mental issues can be unpredictable. Is this person suicidal? Does the person have a means to carry out his plan? Is this a suicide by cop? Are they suffering from delusions or hallucinations? Do they just need help if they are in crisis? Was it caused by drugs? All of these questions may come up during this scenario for the officer to navigate.

Assisting a Person In Need

Not every call is a call for a crime. Sometimes people just need help from officers. In this scenario, the officer might come into contact with someone with a physical or intellectual disability that they will have to navigate to a positive solution. This scenario also includes dealing with autistic individuals.

First Amendment Auditors

First amendment auditors are now being incorporated into our scenario training. These self-proclaimed "citizen journalists" can create an inflammatory situation for police and security personnel. These scenarios places the officer in a realistic environment in order to deal with these inflammatory people effectively, reducing the risk of liability and injury to the officer.

Intoxicated Subject

Dealing with persons under the influence of drugs or alcoholic beverages is challenging for many officers. In this realistic scenario, the officer must respond to and properly deal with someone who is intoxicated on either drugs or alcoholic beverages. Is EMS appropriate, Narcan, will this person be combative or just need assistance getting back to their home? The randomness of the situation and the officer's decision-making process will decide!

Burglary Investigation

Responding to a burglary is a harrowing situation for any officer. Is the burglary in progress, has it occurred earlier, is the homeowner present, and has the homeowner entered the house? This scenario emphasises situational awareness, crime scene control and evidence collection.

Resolving Conflict

Conflicts between people or people and businesses occur frequently, but many of them are not considered crimes. This scenario allows the officer to mediate a situation that occurs but may not necessarily be a criminal act.
