Oculus 3 from Meta

The Meta Quest 3, previously referred to as the Oculus Quest 3, is a standalone mixed reality headset well-suited for police and security VR training solutions due to its advanced hardware. Powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and 8GB of RAM, it delivers high-performance graphics and smooth operation, enabling realistic simulations of high-stakes scenarios like de-escalation, active shooter response, and crisis intervention. Its high-resolution display (2064 x 2208 per eye) and full-color passthrough cameras provide immersive, lifelike environments, enhancing situational awareness and decision-making under pressure. The headset’s inside-out tracking and 6DOF motion controls allow officers to practice tactical movements and interact with virtual tools, such as firearms or TASERs, without external sensors, making it portable and cost-effective for agencies. Integration with platforms TEVR can further tailor scenarios to real-world protocols, fostering muscle memory and critical thinking. Currently, the Meta Quest 3 is priced at $499.99 for 128GB or $649.99 for 512GB, offering an accessible solution for scalable training programs.
